Jeff Baker formerly of Pool Court in Leeds leaves his ‘Stars’ behind to go it alone!
Critically acclaimed Michelin Star chef Jeff Baker has finally decided to go it alone following a fantastic 10 years spent cooking at Pool Court in Leeds city centre. Jeff, one of only a handful of Chefs that have held and retained a Michelin Star for 10 years back to back, has is now ready to launch J Baker’s of York.

“This project has been in planning for over 2 years and I am just thrilled that I can now have the complete freedom to create what I believe people are looking for from a dining experience. A bistro moderne tells people we are a serious dining destination, contemporary in feel yet informal” states Jeff.

He goes on to say “We have some of the world’s leading food suppliers in Yorkshire and I am determined to give them a platform of recognition. We will be using suppliers such as Round Green Farm for our Venison Casserole, Inshore for our Whitby Crab Ravioli and Scott's of York for Galloway Beef in our Steak, Egg & Chips. I will be highlighting to our customers where our produce is from – and you can be guaranteed it will be local!”

Bringing his enviable string of cooking accolades and awards to York will hopefully ensure J Baker’s will become a major gastronomic destination within Yorkshire.
